Nanmu takes centuries to grow. We work only with genuine nanmu timber, and shape it by hand — polishing until the golden threads and the grain rise to the surface on their own.

What is golden-thread nanmu?

Nanmu (Phoebe zhennan) is a slow-growing Chinese hardwood. Certain pieces carry fine golden threads in the grain — this is "golden-thread nanmu", prized for centuries in China for furniture and small objects.

How do I know it's real?

Ask us for close-up video of the exact piece before you buy. You'll see the grain and the golden threads move under light. Dense wood also feels heavier in the hand and is noticeably oilier to the touch.

How do I care for it?

Keep it away from direct sun and water. Wipe with a soft dry cloth. Bracelets are best handled with clean hands — over months the surface slowly deepens and warms.
